The Evolution Saw Review

Every so often in the building trade, you’ll come across a really impressive power tool that you end up wondering how you ever did without.

In this case, I’m talking about our discovery of Evolution power tools, and in particular our Evolution mitre saw. Quite simply, it’s one of the most reliable and accurate that we’ve ever had, and the price is simply unbelievable. They’ve got two main types available, the Fury and the Rage. Ours is a Rage 3, but we’ve also heard good things about their other saws too – so we’ve no reason to doubt that if you’re looking at another model it will be just as good too.

When it arrived it took minutes to assemble – we’ve had some in the past that come with tons of pieces to put together with instructions that you need a degree to decipher. With the Evolution, there was a small amount of assembly to do, but it was explained clearly and took a very small amount of time to complete. That’s a great advantage for us, as we’re paying staff wages, and we’d rather that time was spent on actually working rather than scratching heads trying to figure out what goes where.

So far, we’ve been using our Evolution for a couple of years, and the blades have lasted well. Admittedly we’ve got through quite a few, but that’s been true with other makes and models too. The good news here is they’re not too expensive – generally around £15 a pop. Switching over the blades is a simple task too – just make saw you and your staff know what they’re doing – we did catch one member of the team trying to fit the blade the wrong way around.

There are a lot of big brands out there, but we’ve been really impressed with this Evolution saw. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for a new mitre.

Working with wood is very exciting for a lot of reasons. However, for some people they do not know what type of tools they are going to need to get to work with the wood. This is when people should know about the power tools wood workers use. By knowing about some of the power tools it is going to be very easy for people to get the right tool to do the job and even better know the job is going to be done properly because they are using the right tool to complete the job.

Table Saws

This is easily a staple tool in almost all of the wood workers that are out their. The powered table saw is going to allow people to run boards across the table top, but also going to make it easier for people to get the larger boards cut into the smaller pieces they can work with. so this is a common power tool that is found in most of the wood shops that people are going to work with.

Circular Saws

Sometimes people are not going to be able to get a piece of wood into the shop for one reason or another. When this happens people tend to have some problems in getting the wood cut up inside. This is when they tend to use circular saws. By using these saws people are able to get the boards cut down in a different region and know they will be able to get the boards into the space they need to do the job.

Scroll Saws

Sometimes the wood workers are going to do a fine piece of wood working. This can be a complex operation at times, but it is going to be important for people to have the proper saw. The scroll saw is a smaller saw that allows people to have a hole drilled into the boards and get some intricate decorative work completed inside of the boards. So this is definitely a saw that people will enjoy using because it is going to be a great way to decorate wood without having to do a lot of work.

Misc Power Tools

This is something else the wood worker is going to enjoy because it is going to be tools they do not have to use on a daily basis, but are the tools that make their life easier. These tools can include anything from the power hammers, air nailers, to mitre saws. All of these are power tools that people are going to want to use in their shop and know they will do the job they need to get done.

It’s this last group, mitre saws, that we’re going to look at in more detail here on the site. In particular it’s the Evolution mitre saw that we’re interested in, as it’s a really popular choice and a great contender as the top choice for most workshops.

When people are working with wood, they need to realize their are several different power tools wood workers use. By knowing about some of these tools it will be a lot easier for the wood worker to complete their work and know if they are going to be able to get the job done properly or not.
